Reservation requirements

  • A valid library card in good standing (up-to-date, non-expired card with no overdue or lost items and less than $10 in fines) is required to check out passes.
  • Grafton residents, Grafton property owners and Town of Grafton Employees can make reservations up to 8 weeks in advance with their library card.
  • A valid email address is required for online reservations.
  • Grafton residents have access to the Blackstone Valley Libraries museum pass sharing system. If GPL's pass is already booked, or if we don't have a pass you're looking for, visit any one of the Blackstone Valley Libraries' websites to borrow a pass from them.
  • If your plans change and you are unable to keep your reservation, please use the link in your reservation confirmation email OR call the Library at 508-839-4649 x1820 to cancel, so we can make the pass available to someone else.

Using a pass

  • Passes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations may be made up to two months in advance with a valid library card.
  • Multiple passes can be booked by patrons per day. When school is not in session (February break, April break, summer break June–August, and December break) multiple passes can be booked for multiple museums per day.
  • Passes may be picked up a day before or the day of the reservation when the Library opens at 9:00 a.m. (Holiday closures may affect Library hours and pick up opportunities, so please make plans to pick up passes in advance).
  • The library is closed on Sundays. Reservations for physical passes to be used on Sundays and holidays may be picked up on the closest prior business day.
  • The number of people covered by the pass differs between institutions. Most passes are discounted admission, and some are free. The cost per person is different for each museum. Please read the fine print on the museum's website and the pass.
  • We recommend that you verify the museum is open before you travel. While the library strives to keep up with closed and unavailable dates, sometimes we don't receive notice that a museum will be closed for a staff event, fundraiser, or renovation.

Returning a pass

  • All physical passes must be returned the next day after the visit, at the upstairs circulation desk at 9 am when the library opens. Some passes are date specific and some are day specific. There is only one pass per museum available per day.
  • Physical passes must be returned inside the library with a staff member. (Please do not return passes in the Automated Book Return).
  • Single use passes are collected by the museum and do not need to be returned.
  • The replacement cost for a lost physical pass is the responsibility of the individual who borrowed the pass. The replacement cost is set by the museums.
