Get a Library Card

Residents of Grafton are eligible for Grafton Public Library cards. We need to see a picture ID as well as proof of current address. A valid driver’s license with your current address is fine, as is a photo ID plus something with your address such as a utility bill.

Your first card is free. Replacement cards cost $1. Please stop by the library to fill out an application.

The Grafton Public Library belongs to the C/W MARS network, which means you can use your Grafton card at any Central Massachusetts library. Likewise, we also accept any Central Massachusetts card at the Grafton library.

Borrow Materials

Please bring your card to the library in order to check out materials. Most items may be checked out for three weeks. Exceptions are magazines, DVDs, videos, and  new bestsellers, all of which check out for one week.
Renewals for another three weeks (or one week, depending on the type of material) are possible as long as another patron does not have a request on the item.
Renewals may be done in person, on the phone, or online.

Grafton patrons may use the online catalog to place requests on items either checked out from us or not owned by us. You will need to create an account for yourself in order to use these services.

Create an Online Account

    1. Go to
    2. lick “Library Catalog” from the top menu.
    3. Click on “LOGIN” in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
    4. Type in ALL 14-DIGITS of your library card number in the box provided. [EXAMPLE 27445000012345] Leave the “PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER” (PIN) box blank the first time you register.
    5. The next screen you see will say in red letters, “THE FIRST TIME YOU USE THIS SERVICE, YOU MUST CREATE A PIN.” You will be asked to enter your 14-digit library card number again and you will be asked to create a PIN. Enter your PIN twice when prompted.

NOTE: Please create a PIN that is at least 8 characters and includes a letter, a number, a symbol, and at least one capital letter.

  • After you have successfully registered, you will be brought to a screen that says at the top, “You are logged in to C/W MARS /All Locations as YOUR NAME.”
  • From here you may view items checked out on your record, renew your books, search the catalog, and view your reading history.
  • Remember to LOG OUT of your account when you are finished.

  4. Select the library where you would like to pickup the item and click the “SUBMIT” button.
  5. If you have not already logged in to your account and you have located the item you would like to request:
