TEACHER CARDS

If you teach in Grafton or live in Grafton and teach somewhere else, you are eligible for a Teacher Card by showing proof of employment. This is a card that is separate from your personal Library account, with permissions to check out for an extended loan period.

  • Register for a card online, then come in and show your ID to pick it up at the Library
  • Visit the Library at 35 Grafton Common, Grafton MA (Mon-Thu 10am-9pm and Fri/Sat 10am-5pm)

ASSIGNMENT ALERTS

Tell us what your class is working on and how we can help with classroom collections, displays or reserves at the Library, online LibGuides to resources, Pinterest booklists, and more!

  • Call 508-839-4649 x 1103 to alert Library staff about an upcoming assignment
  • Complete an Assignment Alert Form
  • email sbanister@cwmars.org to alert Sarah about an upcoming assignment
  • Print the Assignment Alert Form and fax to 508-839-7726

SCHOOL VISITS

We’d love to send our staff to your school for Library Card Drive, classroom visits and booktalking, summer reading program promotion, database lessons and more!

LIBRARY TOURS

We’d love to show you the resources in the Children’s Room. A tour may be a general Library orientation or focus on a specific topic or upcoming assignment.

KITS & GAMES

The Library has a collection of puzzles, kits and modern, authentic board games that can be aligned with curriculum frameworks, including Goldie Blocks, Story Cubes, Scrabble, Apples to Apples, Ticket to Ride, and Pandemic. A complete list is available. They are available for checkout.

HOMEWORK HELP

We offer the following databases for children:

  •   Kids InfoBits contains kid-friendly topics in eBooks, articles, video and audio format, at a grade K-4 reading level. Searching is more visual. It’s perfect for resources school reports!
  •   InfoTrac Jr. Edition contains reference materials, newspaper and magazine articles, encyclopedia articles and eBooks on student research topics. It’s ideal for grades 4-8.

britannicabuttonEncyclopedia Britannica’s Children’s Public Library and Elementary School interfaces offer guided searching on topics like animals and geography, and contains multimedia and articles at a K-4 grade level, while the Middle School interface for grades 5-8 has keyword searching and how-to help on writing research papers, book reviews, science reports and presentations.
