Meeting Rooms and Facility Rental
Community Meeting Room Unavailable
Water damage to flooring, walls, furniture and materials was an unfortunate result of the flood that breeched emergency exit doors on the South side of the Library during an intense storm on Friday morning August, 2023, and the Community Room was one of the spaces closed to dry. The room does not currently pose a health or safety risk, and we were able to hold the Friends Book Sale, but there is extensive repair work to be done. As we cannot say at this time when work will be completed, we are unable to accept any new reservation requests for the Community Room at this time.
We have been waiting for the Town’s insurance company (MIIA) to get back to us with a quote and plan for remediation. Demolition is scheduled for Monday September 25 through Friday September 29. A restoration company (ServPro) will spend that week ripping out flooring and part of the wall in multiple interior spaces. We do not yet know the time frame for contractors to come in to do repair work, or the duration or phasing of the project. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
