Movie Nights
Movie Sing-a-Long. Friday, September 23, 2022 6:30 p.m. Runtime: 88 minutes
Please join us for a sing-a-long viewing of a musical about a shy flower-shop employee who finds an extraordinary plant with an unusual appetite; starring: Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Steve Martin, Levi Stubbs, and Vincent Gardenia. Rated: PG-13 Children under 13 will not be admitted to this program.
Spooky Movie Night. Tuesday, October 11, 2022 6:00 p.m. Runtime: 123 minutes
Please join us for this now classic film based on the novel by Anne Rice, featuring vampires, blood lust, and immortality; starring, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, Kirsten Dunst, and Stephen Rea. Rated: R Children under age 18 will not be admitted to this program.

Please join us for a sing-a-long viewing of a cult classic about a straight-laced couple who end up at the eerie mansion of a mad scientist and strangers in elaborate costumes when their car breaks down on a dark and stormy night; starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O’Brien, and Jonathan Adams. Costumes and (non-messy!) props encouraged. Rated: R Children under age 18 will not be admitted to this program.

Join us for a presentation to learn about plastics, their impacts to the environment and how you can be part of the solution. Presented by Jude Thomas, St. John’s High School, and Jan Elyse Taylor, Conservation Assistant, Town of Grafton.
Saturday Afternoon Knitting Group. Saturday, September 24 2022 2:00 p.m.
Experienced knitters and crocheters as well as those who are wanting to learn are invited to participate, formal instruction is not provided for this meetup group. New knitters will be given free materials while supplies last.

Ukulele 101. Tuesday, October 4, 11, 18, 25, Nov 2, 9 6:30pm
Instructor Eric Guerin, courtesy of Apple Tree Arts, leads this 6-week workshop on how to hold, tune, strum and play basic chords on a soprano ukulele. Children under 13 will not be admitted to this program.
GUM Jam. Wednesday, October 12 6:30 p.m.
The Grafton Ukulele Musicians (GUM) meet monthly to strum and sing selections from Daily Ukulele and other suggested music. Children under 13 will not be admitted to this program.
All-Ages Programs
Piano Karaoke. Wednesday, September 28, 2022 1:00 p.m.
Sing along with our new Steinway Baby Grand Player Piano. Children under age 13 must be accompanied by parent/guardian.
Friends Fall Fundraisers
Caddy Stacks Mini-Golf Fundraiser. Sunday, October 2, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Come play 18 holes of mini-golf for the first time in our newly renovated building! This event is in partnership with Mobile Mini-Golf, who will be building an entire mini golf course that weaves through the stacks of Grafton Public Library. Tickets are available for purchase via EventBrite. Sign up to join the Friends of the Grafton Public Library and get five free tickets to the event! Friends of the Library Book Sale. Saturday, November 5 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Stock up on gently used books and media, enter a raffle, fill a branded bag, and select from themed book bundles! Proceeds benefit the Grafton Public Library.
Emotional Wellness Week
The Grafton Public Library will be hosting an Emotional Wellness Fair on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 10 a.m.- to 4 p.m. We are seeking local businesses that provide goods or services that are centered around or contribute to one’s emotional well-being to display and sell products, as well as discuss and demonstrate services to reach a larger audience. The event is free for vendors and is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community. Space is limited. Please email Debby Jackson at jacksond@graftonlibrary.org to reserve your space.
