Star Wars Day! May the 4th Be With You!Please join us to celebrate the Star Wars franchise and fanday, for a day of events concluding with a viewing of George Lucas's Oscar-winning space fantasy about a young man who joins a rebel alliance working to overthrow an evil empire that's taking over the galaxy. 10am-4pm drop in crafts, coloring sheets, LEGO building, DIY trivia 3-4pm Star Wars fan videos screening 4-6pm dinner break DIY off site! 6pm Costume contest & parade 6:30-8:35pm Movie screening: Rhymes with Czar Doors: A Few Nope! 12pm-4pm drop in crafts, coloring sheets, LEGO building, DIY trivia
3-4pm Star Wars fan videos screening OR film (student vote)
4-6pm dinner break DIY off site!
6pm Costume contest & parade
6:30-8:35pm Movie screening: Rhymes with Czar Doors: A Few Nope! (1977, run time 2 hours 4 minutes, rated PG)

Our Friends group will be raffling off a number of Star Wars prizes – stop by to preview the book bundles beginning May 2!

Raffle Rules

  1. The Star Wars Book Bundle Raffle Contest to run from 10:00 am Monday 5/2/22 through 9:00pm Wednesday 5/4/22.
    •  Winners for each basket will be drawn at 10:00AM Thu 5/5/22.
    • Winners will be notified by phone number provided within 1-2 days afterwards.
    • Winners can then pick up their basket(s) at the GPL Library operating hours once notified (based on).
  2. There are 4 raffle baskets available to choose from, displayed in the Lobby of the Library.
  3. Tickets are $1 each (or 6 for $5, or 12 for $10).
  4. Tickets can be purchased at the Lobby Desk at the Upton Street Entrance of the Library.
  5. Tickets may be paid for by cash or check at time of purchase.
  6. Each ticket has two parts. On the back of one is lines for your personal information. When you receive your raffle ticket(s), be sure to fill out your name and phone number on the back of the applicable part of the ticket. Put this part into the can for the basket you are interested in. Retain the other part. We ask that all winners bring in the winning ticket(s) when they arrive for their basket(s). If you do not have your ticket, we may have to ask for other identification.
  7. There are no restrictions on the number of tickets a person may purchase.
  8. The only people that cannot participate are Aaron Swartz and immediate family members.
  9. Cans will be fully shaken before each individual basket drawing so it will not matter when you add your ticket.
  10. Items may be added by Aaron Swartz to the baskets after 5/2/22 but before 5/4/22 6:00 PM. IE, the baskets may only get better. In addition a better quality copy of a book may replace the same book already in the basket(s) during this time.
  11. Last but very important: ALL ITEMS HAVE BEEN DONATED. MOST HAVE BEEN USED AND THEREFORE REFLECT SUCH USE.
