Library Demolition Has Begun!

Posted by bethg on

To make room for the proposed library expansion, the project will remove ~3,000 sq feet of stacks (brick box with metal shelving), salvaging the marble tile for future in the new foyer, to expand the building to ~26,000 sq ft! The tile was removed, and then the front part of the building was sealed off, and then brick was removed from both sides of the stack box before beginning to demo the rear of the building. Exciting progress!

Can’t wait for the library to be finished and bring a modern, fresh space to the town! Although I’ll miss the stacks. I’ve always loved the coziness of them no matter what library they’re in. But, ah well, time for an update!
