The Grafton Public Library joins thousands in celebrating the popularity and power of games and play on November 15, 2014, for the seventh annual celebration of gaming in libraries – International Games Day @ your library. Like so many other libraries across the country and around the world, Grafton Public Library will offer special gaming programs and events suitable for the whole family.

“Libraries are family destinations, and are continuously offering new formats and innovative programs and services that educate, entertain and expand interaction with their members,” said Beth Gallaway, Library Director, and the author of Game On! Gaming at the Library. “Gaming increases multimodal literacy skills, incorporates reading, and brings the community together–all part of the Grafton Public Library’s mission. Whether you play Minecraft, Candyland, or bridge, we want you to come play with us!”

The Library will celebrate with drop in tabletop and video gaming all day in the Main Reading Room, and activities in the Children’s Room from 10am-1pm.

Stop by 1-5pm for a Dungeons and Dragons game hosted by a local teen.

International Games Day @ your library is an international initiative supported by the American Library Association, the Australian Library and Information Association, and Nordic Game Day. For more information on International Games Day please visit http://ilovelibraries.org/gaming.
